Agencies look at how the work is actually done. This page explains the factors, the warning signs, the exposure, and how KEW Legal reviews a working relationship step by step.

What a worker classification review covers and who it is for

A worker classification review answers one question: is this person an employee or an independent contractor? The review applies Florida and federal standards to the working relationship as it runs day to day. It is a legal review, separate from routine payroll.

It serves business owners, managers, and investors. Common reasons to start one include:

A worker or small group whose status is unclear

A new role that could be filled by a contractor or an employee

A change in how work is supervised, scheduled, or paid

A worker who has asked whether they are treated correctly

A government letter about payroll, tax, or unemployment filings

KEW Legal acts as outside general counsel for businesses.
